The POLYCITY International Final Conference will take place in Stuttgart's Wagenhallen from 16-17 September 2010. The topic of the conference will be "Visions of Sustainable Urban Energy Systems".

It will present results from the German, Spanish and Italian POLYCITY communities. Experts will report on state-of-the-art sustainable building in Europe, the USA and China. Innovative energy supply concepts using solar thermal, biomass and photovoltaics will also be discussed together with energy management strategies.

Representatives from the energy sector, architecture, politics, administration and economical organisations, universities and research organisations are invited to attend the Conference. On Wednesday 15 September, a workshop will introduce innovative city modelling tools from the European graduate school CITYNET, which are tested in the project area Scharnhauser Park in Ostfildern, Germany. Sustainable urban energy concepts will be discussed on Thursday 16 September, and the guest speaker, Dr. Franz Alt, author, journalist and TV editor will give a talk about "Dimension Future – Solutions for the Twenty-First Century". The final conference day will present innovative energy concepts for the world’s megacities and energy management systems on a communal level that meet future requirements. A site visit to the Scharnhauser Park demonstration area will also be offered. This will include biomass ORC power generation, district heating/cooling, efficient office and residential building projects.

The event is organised by the Centre for Applied Research – Sustainable Energy Technology, zafh.net Stuttgart. Online registration is possible via the POLYCITY homepage www.polycity.net, where you can also get further information.
